Hi ...

I have a model which is shown in the picture attached.

I have defined the contacts properly for the bodies.(PCONT mu0.3)

But what i observed is the plate is very slightly sticked(or bonded ) to the body 2 .

Even the deformations in the plate alone are very small ...i woner why it is deforming at all.

I tried with 3d elements also ...but the observation is same .

please find the pics and model file  for reference .

Please help me. This is very crucial for me .

    Hi

to avoid this i want to make opengap stiffness(Kb) as too small . How can i do that .

Does changing the Kb value effects the  overall results (stresses or displacements) ? apart from convergence difficulties.

Could you also attach .out file to take a quick look for the outcome of nonlinear run?

Can you also give a try with PARAM LGDISP1 and refer information related to follower force. The file which you shared has Pressure load acting on upper side.

sorry sir i gave lot of trials . So files are all mixed up.

I will give a try with   LRGdisp

    Sir

I tried with LGDISP  but the the out come is same .

The solution is not fully completed, I loaded nlh3d file and observed the same behaviour as earlier(small displacement problem)

please share with me if any document regarding how to asses contact results( to check if the contact working properly or not ? by checking contact pressure , contact forces )

and how to deal with  sudden stress rises at the contact edges(contact sharp edges).

Yes, you need to work on contact.I would suggest you to refer below examples of OptiStruct Example guide.

    OS-E: 0155 Snap-Fit Analysis (CONSLI vs FINITE)

Sir i can define the contacts..My problem is i am getting deformations where i should not supposed to get .(getting deformations where the gap is not at all closed.)

I wanted to know why it is happening and how to avoid this .

I also attached model files  earlier.
