Stress mapping from FE to a updated CAD file

Hi,

I was trying to map the stress results of a previous analysis file into the new CAD file and to modify the mesh at more stress concentrated region by automating the mesh generation.
So is there any specific tool or option or way to map the stress results to CAD file???

Thanks in advance.

    Hello Raja,

In SimLab, "Mesh convergence" tool is available under Solutions > Advanced.

Attached is the document for the mesh convergence tool.

See if this helps for your case.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi Santhosh,

I will explain my question with an example so you can get a clear idea. For example, I have a connecting rod with simulation results. Now I have an updated CAD or completely NEW CAD design of connecting rod. I need to import and map the previous results into the CAD geometry file itself before meshing and it need to show the max stress regions on the CAD geometry with the imported results.

So is there any possibilities of doing this ???

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Raja,

in the menu Results/HOTSPOTS you can create automatically Region Mesh Controls (local refinement) from simulation hot spots. You can simply apply these MC on your new geometry to get a local refinement in the new mesh.
