Hi everyone,

I am setting up a model using initial strain conditions on Optistruct (Non-linear quasi static)

The initial strain is from the result of forming analysis (from Hyperform). But I don't know how to map that strain into my model  and update the thickness of part (Optistruct).

I need some help, please

Thanks!

    Hi,

OptiStruct currently has support to initial stress only, if i'm not mistaken.

For thickness you could use the 'field' entity in HyperMesh.

    Hi Sir,

    Thanks for your support.

Could you explain clearly to me how to set up the Field Realization dialog? I can't find out them in my Hypermesh

    many thanks!

First create your 'Fields' entity using RMB in the model browser. By editing it, you can specify where does your thickness come from. In this case, from a 'result' file, selecting your h3d file from forming. After this you can use RMB in the field created, and select 'realize'. This allows you to select what will you do with the forming results. You need to specify what will you map, in which eles will you map, what method, what is the tolerance, etc. Take a look at the help as well for more details.
