Altair Inspire crashes when trying to view Print3D simulation results after a succesful calculation

*Actual Inspire version is 2019.4 but it is not in the drop down menu.

Dear sirs,

I resend my message as I am unsure whether replying to a solved case thread went through. Can you help with my crashing issue when viewing Print3d simulation results? Also, referring to my previous message, I know that in order to create supports I need to have a CAD file, but as I try to create parts minimizing or eliminating the need for any supports I use meshes created in nTopology's nTop platform, however it is now possible to work those meshes even into STEP files.

The Print3D thermo-mechanical simulation with default settings for an SLM280 and an appropriate average element size finishes succesfully, but trying to view those results always ends up crashing Inspire. If a solution can not be found, perhaps due to my instance of Inspire running on a bootcamp Windows 10 and AMD GPU on an iMac (2015), can the results be viewed in another program by grabbing the data from the run directory? Can I get an update to the inspire as a student using an educational license?

Kind regards,

Antti Kautto

PS.

Thank you again for the opportunity of using your suite of products, it seems I'm about to land a job since companies appreciate a wide palette of design and analysis software skills, particularly in Altair products.

    Hi Antti,

The issue may be related to the graphics card.  One thing you could try is to update drivers on the graphics card (which AMD card is it)?

You can download more recent versions of the Inspire from the Apps section in Altair One if you've got a valid EDU license.  HyperView is another program which can be used to review those results from the Inspire Print simulation, but supported hardware requirements are similar to Inspire.

    Thanks,

    Rob
