FLUX : material drag drop not working
Dear Colleagues,
I am new to Flux.
When I want to import materials, even from a database I just created and saved, it is impossible to drag and drop from the left to the right column of the Material Manager interface. My young colleague hos no problem on his computer.
Is there a speccific configuration (local/ server?) or extra module to instal ?
Thanks for your help !

Hi,
To load the material in your project, you need to open the material manager from your project (physics >> material, right click import material from material manager). From the left you select the material and you put it in the materials of your project.
There is no specification to do this manipulation.
Other way to do it, you can create your material in your project. To do it:
Physics >> material >> new
The last way, you can import the material (if if it exists in the library).
Physics >> material >> right click select import from ‘import material.DAT
Thanks.

Thanks you.
It still is not working.
I have desinstalled then re-installed Flux2021.1, but this did not change the problem :
A)
When I open the materials manager, either from the main menu directly, or from within my open project via the "import material from manager", my project still does not appear in the right column of mat-manage:
the materials do appear in the left column, I can click and drag one or several matrials from this left column, but when my mouse arrives to the right column it refuses to drop the material(s) because there is no project in this right column. Also, I have created my own small library of 6 materials, and saved it under MyMaterials.CMDD : however, this database stays invisible when I ask "import from materials.dat"; if I try and import from "physics > material > import material.dat" it does not have acces to this new database MyMaterials.cmdd
=> where should I store it, and under which format ?
In other words : how do I create my personal database of materials in the proper format .cmdd or .dat and where do I store it so it can be used in my other projects, without needing to connect to materials-manager ?
C) My young colleague has 2021.2 installed, he has no problem. Same research laboratory, same computer administration.
Maybe my projects should be stored/declared in a very specific folder on my computer ?
Thank you for your patience !

When you created your own database, make sure you use the same version as the Flux that you are using to do "import from mat manager". Maybe you created your database in a previous Flux version.
Can you post a screenshot of what you see when you do "import from mat manager" ?

Hello,
(first, sorry about the long delay I deal with several projects at once...)
Here is a screenshot of the materials manager (double screen, see bottom screen):
- the left cilumn gives me the Flux mateirals and my own small database,
- but the right column does not show my project.
thanks for your help
(PS: I have installed the new version 2022.2 since last week)

Thanks for this doc,
BUT
in fact my problem is that the Materials Manager DOES NOT SHOW MY PROJECT in the right column,
so if I drag a material there it cannot be dropped there...Should I have my projects stored in a specific folder / path on my HDD so that the materials manager can see it ?
(I have tried BOTH opening the materials manager from INSIDE my project, and from the GLOBAL Flux Manager)
Thanks

Hi,
You should open the material manager form your Flux project. When you open your project>> physic>> material >> import from materila manger.
Thanks.
