Size Optimization: Vary thickness for each component
Hi,
I'm pretty new to Hyperworks and Optimization and need your help.
I want to do a size optimization in which the thickness of a plate (which is clamped one one side) varies to maximize the eigenfrequency. I already made a optimization where each shell element on the plate has its own thickness value at the end. Now i splitted my geometry in 4 zones and i want the result to have only one thickness value for each component. How can i tell the solve that to only vary the thickness component by component, not for each element?
Thanks for your help

Hi
I understand that you performed free sizing, so you got the optimized thickness per element.
with size optimization , I believe, you can use the design variable on the property. so that the optimization will vary the property thickness , then would do it for the part.
please refer to the tutorial:
OS-T: 4000 3D Size Optimization of a Rail Joint
I hope this helps.
