Mask menu and F-Key Shortcuts

Hi,

Does Hypermesh 2023 include a similar Mask menu as per older versions? I tried to goggle where to find this and one response said to go through my 'Tools' menus, but this doesn't exist for me,

Also, previous versions used to have 'F-Key' shortcuts that would bring up certain menus, i.e. F5 = Mask Menu, do these exist in v2023, if not why not as they were invaluable.

Thanks,

Michael

The mask functionality is moved to idle mode and the model browser.

    Hi Ben,

Thank you for this. So just so I am clear the 'mask' function is now just the 'Hide' option? Does that mean you can now no longer hide single elements or 'hide by face' or 'hide by adjacent' or 'hide by attached', etc anymore? These were very useful functions so I don't know why they would be removed.

    Thanks,

    Michael

All of these options I covered in the idle mode. It is a little bit of a paradigm shift but instead of picking mask then selecting your entities you pick your entities then select hide. So any way you can select entities you can use to hide them.

Example: Hiding elements on a face. (Requirements: have a model with elements on a face and be in idle mode i.e. no tools open)

    1. hit "e" to change the selection to elements
    2. hold down alt and select a face
    3. hit "h"

Once you get use to it, I think the selection paradigm shift is when of the strengths of the new version.
