Screen rendering in CADFEKO 2024 ?

I am studying FEKO, while trying to solve some practival problems.

When implementing a model of RG401 coaxial cable, I got stuck with CADFEKO freezing the laptop, where I edit the model. The curvelinear model seems producing quite a lot of triangles. However, it is still quite moderate number comparing to what games, or other CADs handle.

I suspect, the problem may be in software rendering, and bad caching of the mesh data. POSTFEKO supports various software and hardware rendering APIs and modes. However, I do not see such a config in CADFEKO. Is it possible to configure in config files, windows registry, or in the command line?

P.S.to be precise, the rotation with the mouse happens smoothly after waiting for 3-7 seconds. the freezing returns when releasing the mouse. So it looks like unacceptable delays in fetching the model data to the 3D renderer on every small manipulation.

    Hi Andrew,

CADFEKO should manage the rendering settings automatically. Are your graphics drivers up to date? Could you share the model for me to test?

    Best regards,
    Torben

How Intel drivers may be up to date? They will be up to date somewhere after the end of the world. I want to contorl the rendering settings manually; with a hope that it may help a little.

I have a working HP Elitebook 840 Aero G8 with Xe graphics. Very popular machine between engineers.

But as I said, it seems to be a problem of caching the data before sending to the renderer.

Working from laptop is almost impossible, it is freezing dead.... but when you hold the mouse long, after few seconds the viewport rotates smoothly. So the 3D performance is adequate, but how CADFEKO renders is not right.
