Why Contact pressure is negative?

Hi, I am doing a Non linear Gasket analysis.

In hyperview results contour I have observed Positive and Negative contact normal pressure.

Usually the pressure doesn't have direction, usually it acts normally to the surface

But here why pressure is positive and negative?
