I'd like to analysis using distorted model (attached file).

make this model transform to plane like pressed,

and want to calculate how much force is applied.

I set contact surface use another two plane object upper side and lower side,

but this analysis didn't convergent.

How should I do?

(this attached image is exaggeration. actual distortion is 0.5mm)

    Thank you.

I have one more question about contact surface.

What is the difference between FINITE and CONSLI option in Contact Group?

    HI,

Now I changed the contact from PCONT to SLIDE and with S2S and I see the progress. But the results are yet to come out.

FINITE sliding searches contact for every load increment but with continuous sliding, the search is conducted for every iteration. CONSLI provides better convergence when large sliding is present in the model.

you can try to use radioss quasi-static. to my mind radioss is better for contact ussues;)

    Hi @VAL1

The model didn't converge at my end and I see a lot of element distortion at the end(till 99% converged). I will check if this has anything to do with the material.

There are several tutorial available in RADIOSS for example RD-T: 3595 Three Point Bending with HyperMesh

Thank you for information , I try to use Radioss with RD-T: 3595.

by the way If possible, could you give me the 99% converged result?

And I couldn't download RD-T: 3595 sample from website, Could you share it?
