hello,

When i apply moment on a component (by selecting the component). I am facing this error

  'MOMENT         3       0       01.0     0.0     -300.0  0.0'

 *** ERROR # 1000 *** in the input data:
Incorrect data in field # 3.

what should i correct.

Thanks  in advance

    Hi Teja,

No grid is selected on which moment should be applied. Please check the same.

    Teja,

Instead of comps change the entity selector to nodes and try again,

No Use, I have tried. Moment is not transferring to component. If i go with rigid elements. there is large displacement in rigid elements.

Why large displacements are happening when moment is applied to the rigid elements

    Hi teja,

if you are using solid elements, please remember that solids have only 3Dofs (no rotational Dofs)

If you see large rotational displacements with rigids, this could be due to units, load magnitude or a sign that the component needs to be investigated with non-linear analysis.

    Hi Prakash,

    Thanks For your reply,

I will try non-linear analysis using NLPARM

    hello,

I tried with Non linear quasi static analysis. Same result rigid element are expanding. please say me how to solve this error in Case 1

    Teja,

as said before, you can apply moment on nodes or points. Please check the same. Select a node for example to apply the moment.

I am working on your model with spring and rigids. I will update you soon,
