How to define material parameters ?
Greetings,
I have a query regarding the Force versus Displacement (pink) curve obtained from a structure after conducting a 3-point bending simulation, as illustrated below. I am interested in creating a material that behaves same under the same conditions.
I have determined the Flexural modulus for the elastic part using the 3-point bending formula. However, for the plastic zone, I am unsure about extrapolating strain and stress values and how to implement them in a material law, such as LAW 36 (Piecewise linear), to generate a Force versus Displacement curve (Red curve) that precisely replicates the depicted one.
PLease help me !!

you could couple it with HyperStudy as the engine for material calibration.
Take a look at this tutorial and try to adapt to your case.

The only point that i would take care here, it that your curve shows some slipage at the beginning of the curve, or maybe just the impactor moving freely before contacting the plate specimen. Your model shows some free displacement up to 10units and the reference shows around 6units. You should probably match these first, before starting any calibration, to avoid interfering at the final calibration.

Yes, sure Adriano, that's something i can try for if in anycase i dont find the proper parameters. But my idea is to access these parameters properly by formulation and all. Is it possible do so ?
Thanks Sashi
