What does this lenght indicate in Motion view in 2023.1

Hello While doing analysis in motion view i stuck in between spring alignment of mechanism. my que is whether this length in preload option ofspring alignment what it indicates free length of a spring or difference between installed and freelenght of spreeng which is (delta u ).

    Hi Tejas - the Length field does indicate the free length. By default  the value is set to match with the installed length (the distance between the 2 points in the spring).

    Praful is correct, as the greyed-out field for Length by default displays the spring's current installed length. Since it is greyed-out, it is not being used. This calculation is reflected by an expression that is used in the Length field, indicated by the blue corner triangle:

    If we look into the Length field, you can see the following expression:

    To set the free length of the spring for spring preload, you can change the Preload Option from Force to Length or Force and Length, and then overwrite the expression.

    If you ever want to know what the installed length of the spring is, you can look below in the Distance between points field and see the MAG value.
