Reaction force on cross section

Hi

Yesterday, I have tried to determine the reaction force of the beam by applying the impact load (Drop test).

I defined the cross sections not only on the beam surface (shell element) but also on the impactor  (solid element).

After solving, I found that , the cross section on solid element shown the reaction force perfectly but for the shell element, it shown the worst result (oscillation)

and magnitude, These are shown as picture below,

How can I determine the  normal reaction force on the shell element by using cross section.

Thank you for your kindness

Best regards

Nut

    Hi Nut,

A section is a cut in the structure, where forces and moments will be computed and stored in output files. You can create a output block (/TH/SECTIO) where this is recalled.

I'm attaching a document on sections where this is explained more.

    Hi

I defined the neccesary card for the cross section but as i said, i got the worst result as previous post.

The picture below shown the area of cross section on the shell surface and also the card details.

    Hi,

I would like to ask, how to compute the [alpha] filtering coefficient in the card of creating the section force?

    Thank you.

    Bes regards,

    Vicelyn

    Hi Vicelyn,

Please go through the Help Menu on /SECT where this computation is shown.
