Dear all,

I'm meshing a complex cast piece with detailed features (fillets, drats and so on), for which i'd prefer to have a 2nd oreder tetmesh

My approach is to make a 2d mesh as 2n order R-tria to get afetr the Tetarmesh 2nd order TET10.

This way works many time, but there is an issue related to the new hypermesh 2023 version

In the former version before 2023 there was a command to "smooth" the midnodes deviation of the 2nd order elements.

Ia sk where is this command in the newer hypermesh version? Because i cannot find and could be really helpful to me

Thanks

    Hello Skeenshpard,

    Thanks for your question.

We can access the same functionality in new Interface from 3D menu --> Edit --> Solid Mesh Optimization

Please refer the screenshot image below.

    Hi Anjan,

I saw that section of the Soild mesh Optimization, that actually was already in the former version yet still in the new version.

Actually in former version seems to be a redundancy of this command but I usually did the command in the utility before doing the 3d mesh an after the 2d mesh to achieve a 2d mesh with a reduce distorsion of the second order elemnts. Usually I also did the Soild mesh- in the section of Second order elemnts that actually replicate the condition but applied on the 3d elements.

My question now is: Could I use this section in the Solid Mesh Opitimzation also to treat the 2d mesh as i did before utilizing Utilty menu>Fix 2nd Order Mininodes? Can I obtain the same action on the mid nodes of the 2d mesh?

    Thank you in advance
