Is there a way to recover a corrupted geometry?

I was working on my model, the CADFEKO program got stuck doing some mesh operation, and I had to stop the process with Task Manager. When I loaded the .cfx file again, the program said my geometry was corrupt.  No problem, I have a backup.  I restore my backup, save it to another file name (so I still have a backup) and then proceed. At some point, I try to load the current working .cfx file and I get the same corrupt geometry message.  I then go to my backup, and that one is also corrupt. Is there a way to recover these files? Has anyone seen this before.  I think I just lost over a week of work. How can I keep this from happening again? Should I just switch to CST or Ansys?

So, the answer is no. I would advise everyone to make multiple as they run this tool. I was lucky enough to find a saved geometry and only lose three days of work.

I think another workaround to resolve the corruption issue is to use the .cfx.bak file which has all the information before the corruption happens. Please change the file extension to .cfx and open it with CADFEKO.
