Constant Power region. Performance Mapping

Hi,

I am trying to obtain the Contant Power region of the motor when running a Performance Mapping but I cannot get it right. This is when the machine has reached alredy the inverter voltage and the field weaking region kicks in. Then, torque is reduced and the speed is increased but always keeping the same output power. This the power vs speed plot I get.

Has anybody done this before?

Thanks very much.

    Hi,

This behavior can be due to the topology of the machine. Firstly Flux weakening area is generally more important for the Internal permament magnet machine than Surface permanent magnet machine.

Also the type of magnet will have an impact on the Flux weakening area. For example in your motor if you decrease the Br or increase the temperature for the magnet this area will increase a bit.

So in your case the results means that your machine is not a good candidate for a control with Flux weakening.

    I hope this helps.

    Best regards.
