Fatigue Constrained Toplogy Optimization
I have been trying to optimize an automotive part using Optistruct for a school project. Is there a Hyperworks tutorial on this topic.
I am trying to minimize volume with a fatigue life constraint. But itesration history shows an increase in volume. It would be great if someone could help. I added model file in attachments.

can you provide the .out file here?
Minimize volume doesn't necessary mean to reduce volume. This is only true IF there's no violation in terms of the design constraints. Please take a look how the violations in your run are evolving in each iteration.

I got the message " Infeasible design (at least one constraint violated).

Yes.
Take as look at the .out file.
It actually stopped due to reaching the max number of iterations (30 in this case).
You can change the max iter in the 'opti control' panel.
Analysis>>optimization>>opti control >> DESMAX;
Your optimizaiton stopped at 30 iterations and it couldn't find a design with required fatigue life.
Take care as this global fatigue constraints takes into account your whole model, including non-design areas, and elements that might have some singularity.
Alternatively, you could create a fatigue response, and add a constraint to it. It would take longer, but you would have mo control.
