Hello everyone!

I'm performing an analysis with a pairs of gears.

I've used RBODY do transfer the load.

About the load, what card should I use for the angular velocity? INIVEL/AXIS, IMPVEL or INIVEL? And why?

I did some analysis with different values for velocity using card IMPVEL and I didn't found any difference in stress results, somebody know why?

PS: the analysis contain torque with the card CLOAD_Collector in XX

Could, please, somebody help me?

Thanks in advance!

Henry

    Hi,

INVEL/ means a body is given some initial translation velocity in x , y or z direction . For eg. you want to do a drop test of a phone from a height of say 1 meter. IN this case, we wont be simulating the phone free fall and instead we will give some initial velocity just before it hits the ground which it acquires due to gravity. This reduces simulation time

INVEL/AXIS means a body is given some initial rotational velocity about x , y or z direction .For eg. a car rollover case

IMPVEL means we are imposing the body to follow a certain velocity vs Time plot.

In your case I think if your gears have certain velocity with time, you can use IMPVEL and if you want to give initial velocity about an axis use INVEL/.AXIS
