Clay Render
Hello,
is there any special requirement to activate clay render? ('Enable clay render' is activated of course)
I have tried it with environment switched on or off & with or without extra light source.
The result is always the same... complete black objects.
Thanks for help, best regards,
Mario

Mario,
For an unknown reason the service pack update for 2015 had an issue with Clay Render. We are working on this issue and will address it as soon as possible.

Sorry for interfering with you tropic...but I have missed something like Clay render in Evolve...I didn't know it existed. Where can I find that?

Found it...and yes, black results. Looking forward for it in Evolve 2016.

Just got the new Evolve 2016....No Clay render!...a danish word for this would be ØV, which would translate to bummer! I was so looking forward to this since I saw the bottom in Evolve 2015.

Hi Lunau,
The clay render feature is from a third party and we ran into several issues in 2015. Unfortunately we could not fix all of them and we made a decision to hide it temporarily.
Unless we can fix all issues with the clay render I do not see it being exposed to end users. Sorry for any inconveniences caused and an alternate is to render it with clay as a material.

Hi Arjun,
No clay material in Evolve 2016...what would you material properties be to get that 'special' clay render feel?

Lunau,
I created a quick clay like material using existing evolve resources. Attached is the zip folder containing the material.
- Please extract it and save it to ProgramFiles/Evolve/Evolve 2016.xxxx/MaterialsLib/5/ on PC and for Mac it is Applications/Evolve 2016.xxxx/MaterialsLib/5/
- Restart Evolve and you can see the clay material under a new category 'Stone'
The color is RGB 215 138 84 and I used a Roughness map image 'Pave001b.jpg' under the pavements category. You can play around with the reflection, roughness and also the texture positioning to position the roughness map the way you want including scaling.
Hope this helps.
