Contact in Frequency response analysis

Hi all

I am confused about if I can set any slide contact in FRF analysis or Random vibration.

If my sample is just put on the vibration test table, should I set excitation for table and create a slide contact between table and sample?

    Hi Mark,

Yes setup the model as you desire (eg slide contact), and for the FRF create a table and input the values from the vibration test. I'd recommend first running the modal analysis and making sure it makes sense then proceeding with the FRF.

With this setup you may then create a Random analysis with the creation of a table with the PSD information.

Have you viewed the OptiStruct tutorials on FRF and Random analysis?

adding to what joshua pointed, SLIDE contact in linear analysis (static and dynamics) is allowed, but you have to be aware that it will act as a 2-way limit/constraint in your movement. SLIDE contact allows your parts to slide over each other, but DO NOT allow open/close change in the normal direction, ok?

    Hi Joshua Pennington

    Thank you for your reply.

I have viewed the tutorial on FRF and Random analysis.

Actually I have another question , that is how to add different excitation in a FRF analysis.

    e.g. acceleration 10g & displacement 2mm

I try to add them in a DLOAD

But when I check the node where be the excited, the acceleration doesn't follow my excitation input.
