Visualization of sections of beam elements for the post processing

Dear,

I am experiencing difficulties enabling the visualization of displacements, stresses, or strains of the cross sections of beam elements. I would like to ask how I can achieve this visualization in your software. Specifically, I have a few questions:

1. Is it necessary to create a Free Body Diagram (FBD) to visualize these results, or is it possible to obtain this information without creating an FBD?
2. Is there any material, such as guides or tutorials, that I could consult to better understand how to visualize such displacements in beam elements?

In particular, I am interested in visualizing the torsional modes and flexural-torsional coupling modes that may arise from a modal and flutter analysis of these elements.

I would greatly appreciate your support to continue my work effectively.

Thank you for your attention and assistance.

Best regards,

Francesco

    Hello

Can you please specify what you mean by results on the Cross Section. For example if you have an I beam, do you actually want the results on the points of the I beam cross section, but for a 1d?

If so you either need to use this tool; Beam stress

    https://2024.help.altair.com/2024/hwdesktop/hwx/topics/post-processing/beam_stress_contour_t.htm?zoom_highlight=beam+stress

If you are simply looking for the result on the length of the beam, you can just request standard output.

If this doesn't answer your question, please be more detailed with images if possible.

    Hello,

The issue is not so much about obtaining the results at the points of the cross section, but rather their visualization. For example, regarding the modal shapes, it is not possible to see the cross section as in other software (I have attached screenshots below).
In Hyperview, it is only possible to view the beam elements as lines, making it difficult to understand the torsional mode, for example.

So I was wondering if there was a way to have a similar and clearer view

    Thank you for your assistance.

    Hi Francesco,

It is not possible to visualize beam cross section in Hyperview yet.

May be in coming versions it will be implemented.

    Thanks
