Hello everyone
Is it possible to design an axial flux motor with either flux 2D or flux motor (specifically flux 2D)?If yes, how do I go about it?Thank you for your assistance.
Hello Peter,
currently we do not have a specific module to design Axial flux machines in FluxMotor or in Flux2D.
Regarding FluxMotor, our dev team is looking at solutions to design these machines in the future but I can't promise any date here. Anyway it will probably rely on 3D FE methods mostly.
Regarding Flux2D, some people try to do Linear motor analogies which can be done using Flux2D but there is no specific feature to do this. You would have to build your equivalent model.
Overall, we strongly believe this is a 3D matter and all of our efforts and solutions are using Flux3D solver whether you build this from Flux or from SimLab. Here is an example of a very simple SimLab workflow that could be used : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AY2dlAZd6cw&ab_channel=AltairHyperWorksHow-To
Another one using Flux3D interface : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BlvwKWlEpbg&ab_channel=AltairHyperWorksHow-To
