Warning 16808 Removed unsupported metallic setting

Some faces are getting the above warning even though the settings of these faces are set to the same metallic settings as faces that do not get this warning.

Any ideas as to why this is occurring?

Thanks,

John

    Hi @John Underwood ,

Can you attach an example model (.cfx)?

    Best regards,

Unfortunately, Torben, I cannot since it is for a military program.

Another issue I have been having that may or may not related is with MLFMM and near-field requests. Sometimes, the simulation will stop (not fail) when calculating the near-field values. It will calculate one NF request then stop before calculating the next.

    Regards,

    John

    Torben,

What setting is used in the place of the removed metallic setting?

    Thanks,

    John

    Hi John,

That's strange and I definitely haven't heard of a similar problem before. Does this happen for a specific model only? Or also other models?

Unfortunately I don't understand the question "What setting is used in the place of the removed metallic setting?". Could you please explain?

    Best regards,
    Torben

Hard to say if this occurs with a specific model since all vehicle variants are derived from other variant models. All variant models do have the "removed metallic setting" issue.

On the freezing issue, this morning, one MLFMM model froze while another did not. It is not consistent. The MLFMM issue stops at "Calculation of the additional transfer function for the near fields" but again not always.

The 2 models in these freezing cases are slightly different.

On the setting issue, in CADFEKO, I am informed that a face has had: "Warning 16808: .... Removed unsupported metallic setting".

My question is: If the setting has been removed, what does FEKO use in its place? "Perfect electric conductor" or something else? I am trying to decide if the warning is having a significant impact on simulation results.

    Thanks,

    John

Reran model that froze after remeshing at it worked this time!

The freezing issue could have something to do with our network and be a FEKO issue.

    Hi @John Underwood ,

Maybe it would be better to create a Support Case on Altair One in this case. It sounds like some investigation might be necessary.
