ERROR # 2933

Hi,

I am Adib and doing thermal analysis on resistance spot welding using Optistruct. Now I am having problem with the result. I got error which show *** ERROR # 2933 *** There are more number of degree of freedoms with double dependency than the number of independent degree of freedom near grid ID 1306. PARAM,AUTOMSET is ineffective in this situation.

I do not know how to settle this error. Hope some help from you.

i believe you have a overconstrained model. Your loads seem to be applied to a node with SPCs (fixed in all DOFs).

What are you trying to model? Can you describe it better? Is this an axisymmetric model?

OS has a special modelling for axisym, if that's the case.

Hi Mr Adriano,

Yes this is a 2-D axisymmetric model. i am doing the simulation on resistance spot welding. so basically the model consists of two electrodes, top and bottom, while in the middle are two pieces of plate that need to be weld. i want to analyze the temperature distribution at the weld region. force will be put above the top electrode and heat is introduce at that electrode. the heat then will weld the plates at the weld region.

About the constraints, yes i actually not sure which part need to be constraint and what dof need to be checked. hope you can advice me more about this. Thank you.
