Hello,

I am trying to simulate particle accumulation on a bluff body by coupling EDEM with Fluent (refer attached image)
The particles fall from the top inlet and the air blows from the left, on the right is an outlet.

Please refer to the attached images from Fluent console regarding the errors and please help me understand why this error might have occoured.

Thanks,
Kiran

    Hi Kiran,

Is the geometry scale for both EDEM and Fluent the same? We can often see errors if one or the other is running with different dimensions.  You can confirm the EDEM dimensions in the Creator > Environment tab.

It is also often a good idea to run each case un-coupled initially, just to confirm if there are any errors in the setup.

Also to confirm you are using the latest version of the coupling?

    Regards

    Stephen

    Hey,

    Thanks for your reply.

    1. Yes, the scaling seem to be alright. I have attached screenshot for the same.
In case of a Fluent simulation, do you mean I just use the simulation for fluid flow over the geometry?

    2. I ran the simulation for velocity contours on Fluent and it gives me no errors.
I did run the EDEM sim seperately and I do not see any errors.

    3. Yes, I'm using the latest version of coupling.
    Also,
Is there a way to reset EDEM time step? For example if I run the simulation on EDEM for 1 second and if I have to go back to 0 seconds to rerun the case, is it possible to reset this?

    Please advice

    Thanks,
    Kiran
