Brake Modelica Block in Activate

Dear all,

 

1) In the Activate on-line help, ports of Brake Modelica block are described as:

--------------------

f_normalized.
Support/housing of component
support.
Optional port to which dissipated losses are transported in form of heat
heatPort.
Normalized force signal 0..1 (normal force = fn_max*f_normalized; brake is active if > 0)
--------------------

Is thi correct? It should be:

 --------------------

f_normalized.
Normalized force signal 0..1 (normal force = fn_max*f_normalized; brake is active if > 0)

heatPort.

--------------------

Correct?

 

2) I turned on the support port and attached a spring/damper block to it, but the model issued an error. Please let me know how to use the port.

 

I attached the model. Please let me know how to modify it.

ad 1) I think you are right. Somehow the explanatory texts have shifted. The Modelica source code contains e. g.

 Modelica.Blocks.Interfaces.RealInput f_normalized 'Normalized force signal 0..1 (normal force = fn_max*f_normalized; brake is active if > 0)'

ad 2) Your model should work, but OpenModelica also has its numerical difficulties with it. If you add a mass at support port, the model works fine (see Brake04.scm).
