How to find eigenfrequencies of a reverberation chamber

I would like to find the eigenfrequencies (resonance frequencies) of a simple cubic reverberation chamber.

I tried CMA, but it is not same as eigenfrequencies.

Any idea how to do this kind of simulations for cavity eigenmodes?

Best,

Hans

    Dear Hans,

I raised the same question, so I'd like to share what I had before as below.

Characteristic Modes and Eigenmodes are different phenomena. Characteristic Modes are radiating current distributions that can exist on the radiating structure. Eigenmodes are the field resonances that fit inside an enclosed cavity.

FEKO doesn't have a 3D eigenmode solver as far as I know. Instead, I think that the modes of a rectangular reverberation chamber are given analytically (theoretically).

FEKO has a couple of good techniques to analyze reverberation chambers when the actual source is present:

    1) MLFMM+CFIE at high frequencies

    2) MoM+NGF at medium-high frequencies: This enables you to move the mode stirrer without re-solving the entire chamber.

    Best regards,

    Jaehoon

    Dear Jaehoon,

    Thanks for your reply.

I was looking for eigenmode solver for the cavity electromagnetism applications.

Your answer is clear and helped me a lot. : )

    Kind regards,

    Hans
