Honeycomb material wont crush

Hi everyone,

I am having trouble setting up my honeycomb material. Whenever I run the simulation it remains extremely rigid and doesn't crush. Here is my current setup and the tutorial that I followed. In both situations, the honeycomb doesn't crush correctly.

Edit:

Fixed some errors and the issue may just be that I didn't have rigid enough material underneath the honeycomb

    Hi,

    Your model looks correct.

Honeycomb is an An-isotropic material and material orientations are very important. In question  Impactor mass is 300 gms hitting at velocity of 7mm/msec..So the energy is very less This much kinetic energy may not do any damage to structure... please tell me if you are sure on Mass and Velocity...? In the Engine file time looks in Seconds. Check the unit system you are following and let me know.
    please share your model file.

    Hi,

In the property of the Honeycomb the 'Orthotropic angle with first reference plane direction' [Phi]  is set to 90.By that first direction will be global Z. For first direction the E is almost equal to Steel so the stiffness is very high. The bottom plate is of just 3mm thickness...So for this configuration the results are correct. If you just set [Phi]=0 then you will get entirely different behavior, just constrain the bottom of Honeycomb and set [Phi] to zero and see .
