The current Units license is about to expire. When the new license is issued, would we need to authorize users again or would they be migrated to the new license in the background?

Authorizations will always work with renewed licenses or additional licenses added to your account.
If you are using Groups, group permissions would be transferred to a renewed license but would need to be defined for a brand new license.
