An individual EDEM particle is not deformable. However, that does not limit EDEM from adding some deformability to the particle itself, with additional models like the bonding model, or in case of breakage, the breakage model.
For the bond model, you can bond multiple rigid spheres together to form your individual particle, which will be deformable at the bonds, but the individual spheres themselves will be rigid.
