Diaphragm Rupture

Dear Sir,

I'm trying to simulate a Diaphragm Rupture which occurs in a Shock Tube when high pressure (approx 20 bar) is applied to the side without the groove. I have attached a gif of the expected result and also what I have done in Hyperworks till now. Is there any tutorial available which could help me to do the same in RADIOSS. I had difficulty in setting pressure as boundary condition on the surface and proceeding from it.

Thank you.

    Hi Livillyle,

The rupture can be simulated in RADIOSS. Please refer the tutorial Example 26 - Ruptured Plate from the Help Menu. The failure criteria has to be defined in the model which contains the damage parameters- D1, D2 and D3. Please find the respective models attached along.

You can define pressure load on a surface using RADIOSS.

Please view this recording which shows a pressure loading: http://screencast.com/t/nmwXkyH0sp1a

    Hi,

I think you can use the monitored volume pressure load curve for the pressure loading with the help of a curve.
