Hello, I am a university student living in Korea.

I'm using 'Hyperworks' to produce 'monocoque' for a car racing competition, but I have so many questions that I don't know.

We want to layer the prepreg on top of Honeycomb in the process of implementing the free leg-honeycomb.

But I don't know what to do.

Give me a hand.!!

    Hi,

for Honeycomb you could use 2 approaches:

1- add one more ply in your laminate for your honeycomb layer, with thicknees and material as desired. Let's say a 10mm honeycomb layer, with a isotropic material, in the middle of your carbon fiber layers.

2- depending on the thickness of your honeycomb layer, you may want to actually model it as a solid mesh core. In this case, create a solid volume for your honeycomb, and create a hexa mesh for it. Then use the 'faces' command in order to extract a skin of sheel elements and use them to model your fibers.

Maybe there are some other ways of building this,, but that's what i can remember so far.
