Mechanical load to DC machine
Hello!
I want to check how much electric charge an DC machine is able to generate if i put an mechanical load of, 3000 RPM on it rotor, but whenever i run the PSIM emulation it displays an error message as follows:
Error: The mechanical system which this element is in has an electric machine and a gear box both in the primary mode. One of the elements needs to be set in the secondary mode, or a mechanical coupling block must be inserted in between.
My only intention with it is to measure the generated charge on the DC machine provided by the 3000RPM rotation load, so i don't understand why it ask for have one of the mechanical elements on the secondary, so that i only have electric elements on the secondary, such as an multimeter and some other components i tried to implement on the secondary aiming to ride this error and have the wished measure, i'll attach some pictures os circuits.
PS: On some desperate efforts to try to get rid the error message i put some components (attach circuit) that i saw on an PSIM circuit model that is also attached (attach circuit exp), but the message remains.
Can you help this PSIM newbie with this issue?

Hi, Julio,
In your PSIM schematic, the shaft of the motor is directly coupled with the 2nd shaft of a Gear Box.
In both element's parameter dialog, there is a parameter "Primary/Secondary Flag".
On the same mechanical shaft, only one of them can be the primary mover. That means only one of them can have this parameter set to 1. The other must be set to 0.
If you set both of them to 1 and really want both of them to be the primary mover, you need to insert a "Mechanical Coupler" between the two.
There are many details in the parameter dialog of the elements that won't show in a picture. This is the reason that you should attach the PSIM schematic instead of pictures when asking questions.
Sincerely,
Rhonda

Nice!
This worked nicely, Thanks Rhonda! Now i need to know the amount of charge this DC machine is able to generate, so i put voltage probes on its terminals, but any amount of charge is detected, the graphics are displaying 0V, can you help me to get some measures of the generated charge?
Once again I'll attach pictures of my circuit, i marked in blue and red the stages i think is possible have some charge measure and graphics.
Sincerely.
