Acoustic Infinite Elements

Hello everyone,

I am trying to define Infinite Elements on the boundary of the fluid elements.
I have a model setup with structural elements surrounded by fluid elements and then on the boundary of fluid Elements I have defined CACINF3 Elements.
Elements used: CACINF3
Property : PACINF

Pole Location: Defined in PACINF through X,Y,Z
Element normal: outward towards infinite direction

Results: Displacement (Pressure)

But I don't see any difference in result using Infinite Elements. Could  anyone please help me, what am I still missing to define Infinite elements?

Thanks in advance.

Please refer attached example and tutorial for acoustic acoustic infinite elements.

I have refered these examples and have also prepared the model as per examples.

    still I got 2 Errors.

    1. Internal programming error

    2.   *** ERROR # 5824 ***
The microphone location, specified by grid ID 55586310, does not appear to be a
far-field point (located in the unbounded domain) with respect to any of
the infinite elements in the model.

I have attached a model. Could you please check what is still missing?
It would be a great help. I have already spent a lot time on it.

    Thanks in Advance.

I have applied CD-1 to microfone grids in order to get pressure values.
for this, i get Internal Programming Error. **

Could you please refer above attached .hm file and give me appropriate solution.

    Thanks in advance.

In the above shared tutorial, step 36 covers how to overcome error 5826.If possible please share the .out file of the run.

According to steps mentioned in pdf, normals of the elements are pointing outwards.

    Still an error appears:
      *** ERROR # 5824 ***
The microphone location, specified by grid ID 55586310, does not appear to be a
far-field point (located in the unbounded domain) with respect to any of

It seems you are running older version of OptiStruct version 2017.2.1.This feature was originally supported for direct method in OptiStruct 2017.2.

I see you are running modal method which is suppported for version 2017.2.2 and higher.Latest version of OptiStruct is 2019 .

Thanks Rahul for drawing my attention to this cause.

I tried with Version 2018 and it's working successfully.

    Thanks again.
