Spring element for energy absorbtion

Hello Altair-Community,
we are trying to create a spring element, that exhibits a certain force-displacement-curve for energy absorbtion between a seat frame and the seat itself, to examine its influence on the behavior of a dummy and accelerations and forces, which result in case of a crash.
Could you maybe give us some tips, how we can generate such an energy absorbing mechanism? It doesn't have to be a spring element - it just seemed to be a good idea first. Very important thing is, that this element must not spring back - there's no damper and no spring - the energy absorber is being destroyed due to a crash.

You could try and use crushable spring for this?
