1D Stress for CBEAM not available in HyperView (Solver: OptiStruct, HW Version 2017)
Hello,
I received a solver deck of a friend because I couldn't open his 2020 version hypermesh file.
I performed a coupled linear heat transfer/structure analysis like in the ebook "Learn Thermal Analysis with Altair Optistruct" chapter 6.2.1.
In the model Quad4, Hexa8, CBEAM, CONM2 and RBE2/3 elements are used. In the control card Displacements and Stresses are activated.
But after successful analysis, Hyperview only shows me contour results separately for 2D stress and 3D stress and no possibility shown to select 1D stress.
I tried a new similar analysis (sandbox) from scratch that includes all listed types of elements. Weirdly it has been possible to have 1D stress contours and as a second option 2D/3D stresses.
Since I compared the card settings I don't see why no 1D stresses are shown in my analysis.
The friend said maybe only the .punch format could help, but he forgot how to implement it.
Maybe someone here knows the solution how to "repair" the file to receive 1D stress

Here are the result outputs available:

Element stresses should be available for .pch output, when you recreate from scratch are you getting a .h3d output?
Is the STRESS output request referencing a set by any chance?
Here is the manual entry for stress output requests:
https://2019.help.altair.com/2019/os/topics/solvers/os/stress_elstress_io_r.htm#stress_elstress_io_r
My guess is something is fishy with the output requests..1

My guess is something is fishy with the output requests..You are right. Thanks
von Mises Stress was my mistake in the card edit.
