How can I apply a load profile (1 second time range of stresses on bolts) in Hypermesh?

I would like to apply a time series of loads to bolts. It represents 1 second of stresses when hitting a pothole. I am only familiar with using HyperMesh OptiStruct.

Hi, one qustion:

 

is this load quasi-static? or are you talking about some very quick change in load, like an impact? you described a pothole, so i imagine this is very dynamic.

if it is quasi-static, you could use OptiStruct Implicit, or maybe even NonLinear Transient loadcase, and prescribe a curve using TABLED1.

 

If this is a really dynamic event, you might to use OptiStruct Explicit loadcase, or even Radioss.
