INCREASING ERROR % PROBLEMS in RADIOSS

HELLO everyone!!!

we are working on an impact test on RADIOSS. The test involves an impact of a square block of concrete on a tractor cab (ROPS). The cabin was modeled with SHELL elements and the block with HEXA elements. The fall of the block follows a pendulum trajectory and the rope is modeled as a RBE3.The contact between cabin and block is TYPE 19.
The problem is that the energy error % increases until it reaches + 99.9% the remaining time also increases.
There are no initial penetrations.

we need your help.

    Hi

Hourglass and Contact energies are not used for the %Error calculation.

Please check what Isolid and Ishell formulation you are using. I suggest to use Isolid=24 and Ishell=24.

Also if you intend to use the RBE3 as a cable idealization, RBE3  is not the correct option. Better use an rigid entity or spring element.

I Hope this is helpful to you.

    Regards
