Nearfield distribution of a large array

Hello Administrator,

I want to plot the nearfield (E-field) distribution of a large planar array (16by16 elements), when all the elements are excited with same magnitude and same phase (zero phase). Can I use the array option for creating my array or it is just for array analysis in far-field? I asked this question 23 days ago, but i haven't received any result yet.

kind regards,

Nooshin

    Hi @Nooshin ,

I couldn't think of a reason why this shouldn't work.

Please let me know if there are any problems.

    Best regards,
    Torben

    Hello Torben,

I spent plenty of time to obtain the nearfield E-field distribution of my array by using either the periodic boundary condition or finite array option in Feko. These are the issues that I've faced so far:

    1. I used periodic boundary condition for my design based on the procedure mentioned here:

    https://altairuniversity.com/learning-library/feko-example-video-series-a-16-periodic-boundary-conditions-for-array-analysis/

I couldn't define the number of elements in this case for calculating nearfield distribution. it seems, this option consider my structure as an infinite periodic structure. Moreover, I faced this error:

ERROR 48382: A triangle may not lie in the plane of the periodic boundary

    2. I used finite array option, I could define the number of elements in the x-y direction, but I faced this error:

ERROR 2331: Two triangular surface patches overlap

I tried to solve these errors through the Altair forums' suggestions, but I wasn't successful.

I'll appreciate it if you help me with these issues, since I spent a plenty of time on them without any desired outcomes.

I also attached the .cfx files of both cases (periodic BC and finite array option) here:

    Hi @Nooshin ,

Since I don't have much time presently, please create a support case on Altair One:
