ASSIGN 2 LAYER MATERIAL FOR MODEL TANK +FRP

Hi everyone. Have a nice weekend.

I have a steel tank + FRP cover 2mm. 

I don't know how to set up material for this.

May I create steel material and add "material ply 2mm FRP"  ?

Please teach me do make it.

Hello @Alex Nguyen ,

we cannot easily answer this question, as there are several questions to be adressed, starting with the solver you are using for computation. If you are using Radioss or OptiStruct, we can provide best practices.

The second question, is, how do you mesh this part:

• do you get an hexa mesh for the steel part and a shell mesh on the external face for FRP cover. In that case each mesh will have a separate material
• or do you only get a shell 2D mesh ? If so you nee to define a laminate with 2 different plies, each ply having a different thickness and material
