Not able to run HW on Yosemite
Hi,
I am trying to run the HW13.0 beta for mac (Students Version) on Yosemite 10.10.3.
I had trouble initially running the install file that i downloaded as mac kept telling it might be corrupt. I managed to get it running by adjusting my mac's settings. However, couldn't get the checksum verification step mentioned in one of the previous threads. When, I try to run the checksum it keeps popping up a message saying the install file is a directory.
That said the settings changes did take me through the install process and i did have the 'Altair' folder and an 'uninstall' folder installed on my system. However, I could not get the program to run thereafter. I have 'Xquartz' already installed on my mac. I was wondering whether there is any fix to this issue.
Following error shows up if i try to run it from the terminal
LSOpenURLsWithRole() failed for the application /Volumes/TOFD_Extension/Applications/altair/HyperWorks.app with error -10810.
In addition, I also am not able to use the uninstall utility to remove the installation.
1. I felt I should mention the download issues, incase that had something to with the subsequent issues.
2. Was wondering whether such an issue could just be something to do with the license file got pasted (its named 'altair_lic.dat' and located in /Altair/Security/). I believe I have it in the correct location. However, this crossed my mind as I had a similar issue running my MATLAB version because the license file sent to me had an error in its name and it was initially loaded to the wrong path.
3. The MATLAB issue also led me to an issue related to java versions being utilized by the program. Is a similar problem a possibility here?
Look forward to any advices on resolving this issue.
Thanks
Vignesh

Hi VIgnesh
HyperWorks is officially supported for Mac OS X 10.8.
The software does not support MAC OS 10.10.3 Yosemite officially yet,
Also, for our software to run the users needs XQuartz from here:
http://xquartz.macosforge.org/landing/
please try installing xquartz as above and let us know if there was any success,

I have 'Xquartz' from the link installed on my Mac. But not able to run it in spite of that.
Guess I should wait till the release for 10.10.3 comes out.
Thanks.
