Hello , I have an issue with RADIOSS solver , i get the following error when i try to run my script :

{C:/Program Files/Altair/2017/hwsolvers/common/tcl/tcl8.5.9/win64/bin/tclsh85t_rd.exe} {C:/Program Files/Altair/2017/hwsolvers/scripts/hwsolver.tcl} C:/Users/Zakaria/Desktop/new/car_test_0000.rad -screen -dir -solver RD
Job load: 1
Restart file car_test_0000_0001.rst was not created.
Missing 'NORMAL TERMINATION' in output file car_test_0000.out.
'ERROR TERMINATION' in output file car_test_0000.out.
radioss:: Solver run finished.

I would like you to help me , thank you !

    Hello,

i have a kinematic condition problem and an initial penetration with a type 18.

I don't know how to change that. I would like you to help me, please.

    Best regards!

    Hi,

Type 18 interface is a coupling between a Lagrangian material and an ALE material, and for Type 18 interface the penetrations cannot be checked in HyperCrash or HyperMesh using penetration tools. Ignore these warnings, try running and we will review the results.

    Hi,

I ran the simulation but i have a problem :ZERO OR NEGATIVE VOLUME FOR 3D-ELEMENT.

I tried to use lsmstr=2 in the solid property and i used the option /DT/BRICK/CST.

But it does not change anything...

    Hi,

There seems to be some penetrations/intersections between components. From penetration check tool instead of groups select entity type as components and select all components and check for penetrations/intersections between components, clear them all and try running.

Also let me know the unit consistency you are following in this model.

    Hi,

I checked the penetration/intersection and i cleared them all.

I changed also the properties : for solid element - ISOLID = 17 and lsmstr =4 and for shell element - IShell = 4 and Ismstr = 2.

However, when i run my simulation , i have one issue about the ALE interface (Type1):

    WARNING ID :          433
    ** WARNING IN ALE ELEMENT
    DESCRIPTION :
       -- SOLID ID : 411659
MORE THAN 6 POINTS CONNECTED TO NODE 1453354

and i have this message for a lot of solid element.

I don't know how i can clear this interface issues.

    Best regards.

    Hi,

The file runs at my end without any errors. The .out file is attached for your reference.

Let me know which HyperWorks version you are using?. Also update with the latest patch.

    Hi,

i tried to run with the interface type 18 and it works. I ll retry with the type1.

However, i have an issue of fluid reflection at the outlet boundary even i selected the MAT/LAW11 and ITYP = 3.

I don't know what i have to change to clear this issue.

And, i have an other question about the output data. I can visualize the velocity field of the fluid but i don't know how to visualize the von mises field or stress field of the solid part.

Can you help me about that ?

    Thank you!

    Hi,

    The model setup looks fine.

Can you please go through example RD-E: 3900 Biomedical Valve in our Help Menu which is a similar case and try modelling with the same methodology.

    Hi,

I have a question about the data exportation.

How can I export the vector or scalar field in .csv file or others file types as data tables  when my simulation is finished ?

    Best regards!

    Hi,

It is possible to export the results in .csv format from HyperGraph. An option to export the curves is available in HyperGraph.

    Hi.

I know this thread is old.

But I got the same problem.

    {C:/Program Files/Altair/2023.1/common/tcl/tcl8.5.9/win64/bin/tclsh85t.exe} {C:/Program Files/Altair/2023.1/hwdesktop/../common/acc/scripts/hwsolver.tcl} C:/Users/Marcin/Downloads/1818/pr1-1818_0000.rad -screen -nt 32 -dir -solver RD
    Job load: 1
    C:/Program Files/Altair/2023.1/hwdesktop/../common/acc/scripts/hwsolver.tcl
Missing "NORMAL +TERMINATION" in output file pr1-1818_0000.out.
    Solver FAILED

Radioss:: Solver run finished after 12 minutes.

End of Altair Compute Console job # 2

The output file (30MB)  breaks always here:

    (solid elements timesteps)

    image

The model is very big (rad file has almost 3GB of tet10 elements) .

Previously it was calculated correctly (rad file of tet4 has 0.8 GB) . I changed recently some things:

Material, added failure (tested on smaller model) and small changes for contact 7

Most change was done for elements. Previous tet4 now I changed to tet10.

Can someone help me with this problem ?

    Hi Marcin,

From the info you provided it is difficult to be sure what causes this error, but I have some suggestions.

    1. You should compare the initial (working) model with the one that crashes to find any differences.  Check out the 0000.out files of both and see any weird differences.
    2. You have to check the compatibility of the formulations  you use.  It is possible that tet10 elements are not compatible with some material laws and properties.  But despite the elements, check the compatibility of every formulations.  You can do that in the following link:
      https://help.altair.com/hwsolvers/rad/topics/solvers/rad/material_compatibility_starter_r.htm
    3. If you do not find anything with these procedures, feel free to share your models (if possible) and I can give them a look to find any errors.

    Thanks,

    Polyvios
