How to model the MOV in PSIM using .lib.
I want to simulate the MOV model (.lib is available from bourns - ISOMOV); but unable to do the same. Please help. Thanks!
Hi @yogendra,
MOV and GDT are mainly for surge protection purposes. Their characteristics do not affect the system's operation.
Therefore, PSIM and LTspice, and many other simulation software do not have their models.
If you can provide the datasheets, the test circuit schematic, and the reason why you want to simulate those elements, we will see if we can use PSIM's nonlinear elements to help them to build the model.

Unfortunately we can't use the .lib model for a PSIM simulation but we can certainly model the MOVs with the datasheet information.
Take a look at this post:
In here we use a variable resistor along with some logic and a LUT to model the dynamic characteristics of an NTC thermistor.
The same principles should apply when modeling an MOV, we can make the resistance values voltage dependent.
