Fill powder hopper
Hello;
I am trying to perform a Hiperworks-EDEM cosimulation with a kind of cylindrical tank inside which I have a cylinder. The simulation is based on the fact that this deposit is full of dust, and my intention is to make an initial simulation in which that cylindrical container is filled with material. The problem is that when I start filling the material, it continues on its way without stopping at the bottom of the tank. It gives the impression that the material of the container acts as if it were virtual.
They are geometries imported from Hyperworks.
Thanks a lot

Of all these possibilities, the only one that I don't know how to verify is that of physics.
I have left it as it comes in the program without touching anything. How I should proceed?
I really feel that these doubts may be for a beginner, sorry.
Thanks a lotFor the physics the default particle-geometry interaction is the Hertz-Mindlin model which doesn't have anything to configure, so if you haven't changed anything the error won't be in that area.
Do the other points help resolve the issue?

Hi Joshua,
Particles passing through geometries can be typically caused either by:
- The time-step been too high (20% of Raleigh time-step is recommended, if it's not stable can reduce this).
- Incorrect particle properties. Can you check the particle mass, volume and moment of inertia is correct for the set density in the Bulk Material tab.
- Under Physics what do you have set for the Particle-Geometry interaction? Configuration settings for the base model could cause no force to be applied depending on the settings.
- Also you mentioned virtual geometry, can you confirm if you go to the Geometries tab in EDEM and select the specified geometry that type is Physical not Virtual.
Regards
Stephen

At some point I touched on physics and now it is solved. Now I have another problem with the amount of material generated, but I don't know if I can continue in this post or open a new one. Let the moderator tell me.
Thanks a lot
