Topological Optimization - Preserve stress distribution at interface
Hello,
I have two objects in contact. I would like to know if it's possible to perform a topological optimization of a part, ex changing the material, so that the stress distribution at the interface between the two parts remains the same as before. Thank you for the attention.

As i think, first you need to do contact analysis, after that you extract contact forces
Then use those forces as BC for topology optimization of single part. You need to constraint it.

All Optimization disciplines using nonlinear solution with contact only has been supported in OS for a long time.In V2018, nonlinear responses have been added.Contact pressure and contact force from both S2S and N2S contacts can now be used as a response (DRESP1) in optimization formulation. Refer attached model for contact pressure response for shape optimization. Use latest version and refer online help for detailed information.

Hi!
Replying to an old thread but hoping someone might see this anyway.
I'm conducting a similar study and have some problems with the contact pressure.
When using N2S contact, the contact is unstable and I get some high pressure concentrations in the contact.
Using S2S contact seems to solve this but then my run stalls when it's going into the optimization routine. No error, it just stalls.
Any ideas?0
