ERROR id : 78 in radioss block explicit analysis

Hello,
a little bit more information about what you have defined would be also very helpful...
It looks like there is a undefined node in a definition (maybe set or direct enumeration). Check and update this please.

Mario

The simulation objective is: the gasket is to be moved in positive X-direction with a force of 252 N and hit the rigid target surface which is at a distance of 0.3mm above the gasket in the first load step and in the second load step gasket has to move negative X-direction and slide over the yoke body as a declipping contact.
For this analysis at the starting of the radioss engine file it shows the following error.
RROR id : 78 ** ERROR : UNDEFINED NODE NUMBER IN SURFACE DEFINITION DEFINITION : NODE 0 DOES NOT EXIST
I have checked all nodes in the body(including rigid body nodes) and entity sets everything seems to be perfect but i wonder how this error comes.

Seems you have defined a master surface for a contact, but this surface contains no segments (a segment is used in contact to describe a face of an element and consists of three or for nodes, depending on wether the element face is three- or four-noded).
You could check all the master surfaces in the model and see if they actually contain all the segments you need for your contact (in Hypermesh segments are named 'contact surfs', in Hypercrash they go as 'SURFs'

Hi,
I am facing a similar error. My model was working fine until I deleted the mesh for a component and remeshed it. I am now getting he following error:
ERROR ID: 78
** ERROR : UNDEFINED NODE NUMBER
DESCRIPTION:
IN NODE GROUP DEFINITION DEFINITION :
NODE ID = 2096 DOES NOT EXIST
I have deleted the empty contact surfaces and sets. I am unsure what I can do now to resolve the error.

Hi Sai,
try this,
1) check which set has the node ID 2096.
2) Make sure that set ID has defined with /NODE card and not with other card or just with no card image.
Also, check the contacts whether they have right master and slave segments.

Dear All,
Did you get solution for this error mentioned above??
Me too got the same.
ERROR ID : 78

Ram,
Can you send me the model in drop box?

Dear George,
I had dropped it.
Thanks

Ram,
Can you recreate the loads (gravity and inivel) . Also check the node group set 29. Re create the same for adding mass. Please try running after these.

Dear George,
Thanks for your valuable support.
I have cleared the errors with your guidelines , but now i am getting the error below
** ERROR TRAPPED : REPORT TO LISTING FILE
ERROR ID : 760+=============================================================+

Hi Ram,
Please share the .out file and input file.

Dear George,
I had dropped it.
Thanks

Hi Ram,
This error is trapped because of the output block. Please remove the springs component from the Components subset in output block.
If you want the time history of spring elements, select elements from the subset and select the spring elements.

Dear George,
Thanks for your valuable support.

Hi
In my opinion, we can use contact 19 for self contact

Hello,
I also received the same errors in my modelling. The details of my modelling are as below:
I was learning SPH by practising the "ditching using SPH" tutorial. It worked fine at first, but I tried to use a different droppping object (cylinder) instead of the triangular bar in the tutorial. I also made several changes on the parameters based on the new dropping obect. However, I received the errors.
The model file is attached below, it would be great if you could take a look and get back to me.
Regards,
Kai
