Dear all,

I would like to do a stress constrained optimization on a small aircraft wing.

My objective: Minimize the volume

Constraint: Max von-Mises stress < yield stress of the material.

Can you let me know how to formulate this in Optistruct?

I got the following error in my first try:

 *** ERROR # 1812 ***
Multiple responses are assigned to the DESOBJ objective function.
A MINMAX/MAXMIN objective function definition with DOBJREF should
 be used instead.

Minmax reduces the maximum of a parameters, in this case von-Mises stress can be given. but I want to set a limit for the stress. Can this be done using Optistruct?

    Hi Suraj,

I missed this post, sorry for that.

What type of optimization are you running.

You can specify stress constraint on DTPL card, if you are running topology optimization.

    Hi Suraj,

Did you solve the problem ? If you solved, Can you explain me how to formulate ?
