Segmentation Error

I am getting segmentation error while saving my model in .cdb . After this the Hypermesh crashes. I am using Hypermesh 8.0.

Any tips on how to avoid segmentation error and retrieve the elements for ansys. Nastran neutral format as well as optistruct format are also not working.

Tejas,

It's possible your HM file is corrupted. In any case, please send your model to Altair's technical support at hwsupport@altair.com and someone will help you out.

Are you using HM8.0 or HM8.0-SR1?

Thanks for replying.

I am using HM 8.0.

I already sent the mails to altair. Its almost 3 days - till now there is no response from altair.

Is there any way of retrieving the data or repairing the file. Almost 70hours of work has been billed on that file.

Previously also the same model had problem- It was taking more than 1 hour to open. Finally once it opened I took separate information as .CDB and IGS and started working again.

I cannot send the model to altair as per company policies.

Tejas,

It can be done and it's not a fool proof solution. You will still have to send it to Altair Support though. They inturn can have the developemnt team run a debugger. There's no guarantee that the entire file can be retrieved. You can try your luck anyway.
