Shell Thickness Orientation

Hi,

Can some one tell me how to orient the thickness that can be defined for shell elements. The image below shows two shell elements(cyan and yellow) which are to be attached. I need to provide thickness for these shell elements, say 10 mm for both, how do I orient the direction of the thickness from the shell members' surface?

Or in another way, is it possible to vary the thickness in both the directions, say 5 mm on each side of the shell..?

Thanks in advance. This forum is really good and has solved few of my problems..

Standard FEM orients the thickness in the +/- shell normal direction. You can use the z-offset parameter to make it different on the +/- side.
